The Land, the Site, the Opportunity

We have completed a safe residential area for our students with four independent dormitories, bathrooms and a shelter, powered by a small solar system. Around the perimeter of our land, we have housing for our staff. In a separate space, is our kitchen and dining area where Sanky and his staff create 72 delicious and nutritious meals each day for staff and students. We have developed kitchen gardens to be self-sustaining, and planted trees and flowers to beautify our surroundings.

But, although we took our first intake of students in 2020, we still don’t have purpose-built classrooms, computer suite and library. We want to build our Learning Forum, and want you to join in our project.

We have designed a building where all timetabled classes will take place, where students can find a space to read or research quietly, use the computers, or work together on small group projects. It will contain two classrooms which can seat up to sixteen students each. The medium classroom would be used for the children’s lessons and the private study pods for smaller group study and breakout rooms. We would plan to house the library with the computers. The utility room would store the solar system and batteries.

To make sure there is a sociable space, we would build a shelter in the centre. This could also be used for group study and more informal classes.

We can expand our direct number of beneficiaries each year to around sixty across different programmes by using our existing tutor group, adding just a small amount of cost for additional learning materials.
