Make a donation
You could support our work by making a monthly contribution or a one-off sum via our website. Regular donations help us plan ahead, so are a very valuable source of income to a charity like ours, no matter how small the donation. Please make cheques payable to ‘Our Moon Education’ and send to the address at the bottom of this page, or contact us to request our bank details.
Fundraising challenge
Take on your own fundraising challenge – half marathon, Tough Mudder, swimathon, eat on less than £5 a day for a week, have a ‘no plastics’ week and be kind to the environment at the same time. Get sponsored by your friends and family. Better still, do the event with some of your friends as well and get everyone to raise money for Our Moon. Read our guide to get some ideas
Organise a fundraising event
Organise a fundraising event for your friends and family – a charity pub quiz, tennis tournament, bridge night, race night, church fair, bake sale. We have recently run a successful ‘Frock Swap’, where invitees paid £10 plus brought at least three gently worn clothes. In return, we provided wine and cake and they left with three different items of clothing. If you are working, could you organise a fundraising day in the office where staff dress up with a particular theme or bring in cakes to sell – there are endless options? Here is a link to some ideas to get you started:
School and university partnerships
Partnerships with secondary schools and universities are a natural fit for Our Moon. Imagine if the children in our schools had as few opportunities as our students! We are currently working with the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) in Switzerland and Royal Grammar School, Guildford.
Your students can help us with fundraising and challenge events; we can help by giving talks at your school and offering the opportunity for your students to visit Our Moon’s site in Zambia so that your students can see for themselves the impact that their fundraising and Our Moon has on its students.
Corporate relationships
We are always keen to talk to companies who can help us as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, either through fundraising or pro bono work. We have already been supported by Ghana International Bank, ReCares, Vestra Wealth, Morgan Lewis, Red&Grey and John Southworth Accountants. As a small charity, you can be assured that your funds raised really contribute to improving opportunities for Zambia’s young people.
